Excellent website if you want to know something really quick about Mount Everest. It has all the information on one website, but this website is subject to change. This link would be a great way to start of talking about Mt. Everest.


2. Mt Everest History and Facts

This is a great website if you are looking for simple answers.  It would be very useful for students if you hand out a worksheet of simple fact questions for the students to research. It’s very clear and easy to read.


3. Lesson Plan- Climbing Mount Everest: Then and Now

Great website if you are wanted a lesson plan to teach Geography and Earth Science. The lesson calls for grades 6th-8th but I’m sure the lesson can be tweaked to fit younger grades.


4. Everest Facts

This is a very informational site. I like it because it gives a timeline starting from 1841 to 2003. It talks about all the people that have climbed Mt. Everest and other important events. Great site.


5. Mount Everest Photos

National Geographic has Wonderful photos of Mount Everest. These photos are amazing and put to life what Mt. Everest really looks like. Each photo has a summary about what you are looking at in the photo. This is a great site for students to see pictures of Mt. Everest.

6. Everest for Kids

This is a great website for kids. It is about a man named Alan and his story to climbing Mount Everest. It is a 35-page journal with pictures and what was going on during each picture. I loved this journal. It made me feel like I was climbing Mt. Everest with him.


7. Top of the World-webquest

I love webquests. They are so much fun. Here is a webquest about Mt. Everest. This webquest takes you on a virtual climb of the tallest mountain in the world.

9. Mount Everest Guided Climbing Expedition

This website has wonderful pictures of the climb up the mountain. It also has an overview guide from 2010 with the Alpine Ascents International. There is a planning list and a prerequisites list for future climbers.


10. Mount Everest Prices

This website shows how much climbing Mount Everest cost. It even breaks down the total cost. It really puts in perspective all the preparations for climbing this mountain.
