So I have never really liked learning Social Studies. What I remember of Social Studies growing up is memorizing presidents, questions at the end of the chapter in the textbook, worksheets, worksheets and more worksheets.
My thoughts have definitely changed since I have started block. I am a visual and hands-on learner. I love how we are implementing both of those in the classroom. Through out school, Social Studies has not been a main focus for many of my teachers/professors so we forget about how important this subject really is.
It has not been until recently that I have an interest in Social Studies (at least the history part of it). I love the Kings M&M idea "Taxation without representation". I am very big into learning about the monarchy and King Henry VIII times. (side note = the top picture on my blog is Hamilton Court Palace).
I am excited to see what happens next in our Social Studies class!
